Body Scrubbing

A beauty treatment with health benefits.
While Exfoliating dead skin cells, body scrubbing increases circulation and blood flow, and it speeds up the process of cell renewal leaving your skin fresh and glowing. I also find it to be a very pampering and therapeutic experience.

Coffee Body Scrub

What you will need:

 - 1/2 cup Coffee grinds

4 tbsp Jojoba Oil

1 tbsp Raw Honey

1 pinch Dried Rose Pedals

Does anyone else just love the smell of coffee? Aside from smelling wonderful, coffee also has caffeine which can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. I added rose pedals to this scrub because rose pedals promote dewy, luminous skin while adding a feminine touch. Use this scrub in the morning for an awakening experience.

Sugar Body Scrub

What you will need:

- 1/2 cup Sugar  (I used coconut sugar)

4 tbsp Jojoba Oil

- 1 tbsp Raw Honey

- 8 drops Lavender

A body scrub made with sugar is going to be the most gentle on your skin. I choose Lavender for this scrub because Lavender is calming and relaxing. As well as being gentle, sugar is a natural humectant, which means that it helps your skin retain moisture. This scrub would be ideal before going to bed.

Salt Body Scrub

What you will need:

- 1/2 cup Salt (I used Pink Himalayan)

- 4 tbsp JoJoba Oil

- 1 tbsp Raw Honey

- 5 drops Eucalyptus

A body scrub made with salt will be the most abrasive on your skin. Salt reduces inflammation and relives sore muscles.  Eucalyptus is a decongestant, it’s also antibacterial. This scrub would be a good option if you have any soreness in your body, any congestion in your sinuses, or just want to get super clean.

How often? You should use a body scrub twice a week. Unless you have a sunburn or any other skin irritation, then you should avoid body scrubbing until your skin is back in good health.

Why am I suggesting jojoba oil?
JOJOBA OIL: It has antibacterial properties, it’s gentle, soothing, and anti-inflammatory. It’s also the most similar oil to the oil (Sebum) that our skin naturally produces. So it’s great for all skin types.

Why am I suggesting raw honey?
RAW HONEY: It also has antibacterial properties, which makes it’s great for cleansing. It’s very moisturizing, soothing, and it’s anti-aging abilities regenerate skin tissue.
